Ensuring Product Capabilities and Specifications
Syscom Advanced Materials, Inc. has implemented a Patented manufacturing processing to produce multifunctional Metal Clad Polymer Fibers (MCPF) for power and signal transfer, and electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding applications. MCPF has advantages over conventional conductive metal wires in flexibility, weight savings, mechanical strength, durability, tailored electrical conductivity, and more uniform electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding.
This major breakthrough in conducting material technology will enable manufacturers to:
- Solve critical engineering problems and
- Significantly improve product capability and
- Increase manufacturing flexibility and efficiency
By staying flexible, Syscom’s unique manufacturing process can adjust to market demand while maximizing production capacity. All of Syscom’s production lines have been designed from the ground up completely in-house using our engineering expertise and machine shop resources. Electrical resistance values in the range of 0.5 to 5.0 ohm/foot of Copper, Silver, and Nickel coatings are produced routinely. If you are interested in a metal coating not mentioned here, please contact us with your requirements.
Currently, Syscom operates four production lines with a combined output of close to 500,000 feet per day. TWISTECHNOLOGY® machines will package the clad fibers onto spools, bobbins, or cones which will generally hold up to ~3,000 feet/spool. It can provide anywhere from 0.5 to 5.0 TPI (or Twists Per Inch) when it transfers to the final packaged configuration based on the customer application and the 6 twisters can load over 430,000 feet/day onto spools for final packaging.
Our Commitment To Improvements
As an industry leader in Metal Clad Polymer Fibers, Syscom is committed to continuous improvement in product quality, processing efficiency, and cost reduction. To ensure our product consistency and the quality of metal cladding on the fibers, we have incorporated high-speed camera inspection systems to monitor for defects as the yarn leaves the plating process area and just before being put up onto cores.
- As an AS9100D certified manufacturer, we have a full testing lab to conduct various tests such as Electrical Resistance, Fiber Weight Analysis, Tensile Strength, Elongation, Flex Test, Abrasion Test, Adhesive Test and Thermal Stability, etc.
Syscom should have all you need to meet your production requirements of Metal Clad Fibers. We take pride in forming partnerships and working closely with you in order to deliver exactly what you need.
Research and Development
The product research and development team at Syscom carries out various standard tests for developing new products, improving product performance, and ensuring product specifications. MCF (Metal Clad Fibers) product testing, such as abrasion resistance, flexural strength, electrical resistance, tensile strength, surface morphology, and thermal stability are routinely used to aid in research about the MCF limitation in normal applications.

Metal Clad Fibers open the door for numerous applications.
Traditional wire, cable, and thread are limited by their innate properties. Due to its unique construction, Metal Clad Fibers provide engineers and researchers with more possibilities.
These fibers fit seamlessly within the slighter yet more efficient nature of present-day electronics. The concept of wire, or even conductive material, is often visualized as the material comprising of metallic qualities; hard, weighty, and inflexible. Metal Clad Fibers give new meaning to what conductive wires, threads, and cables can be.
Multifunctional Conductive Metal Clad Fibers are becoming lighter, stronger, and more efficient. These are the innovations that Syscom continues to research and develop.
